What’s new in Silverlight This Week in Silverlight

Recorded May 6, 2010

Netbook sales are kinda swamping iPad sales

Kelly points out that while the iPad is cool, its sales are paltry against netbooks in general.

Brian takes away that there’s lots of touch devices being sold right now.

Erik likes the idea that sometimes the sexy devices aren’t the ones that people are using.

Kelly asks: which app store you should write for?

Erik points out that you can make a lot of money in an empty app store if there is a big market for the phones tied to that app store.  Also, these stores are tied to developer tools (Objective-C, Java, Silverlight, etc.) and those stores with the better tools will do better.

Brian talks about the barrier to entry to the different app stores.

Kelly sums up with what’s important to look for in an app store.
